The New Republican הרפובליקאי החדש

I’m suppose to stick to my own country coming elections (tomorrow).

Yet I’m fascinated by American politics. Although the elections are over, the political arena is boiling hot. Throughout the last term and the sizzling campaign (and somewhat boring elections) – I kept a watch over the issues, the manners and personas that were featured.
As an avid “Daily Show” and “Colbert” fan, I was swayed toward the democrats. The republicans were portrayed (and apart from very specific cases, still are) as raving mad tea party advocates, with very old agendas about gays, abortion and (the current issue) gun control.
Recently, I felt that the republican agenda has been hijacked. The millionaires that back up the republican campaigns made the republican spokespeople and Fox News presenters stick to the talking sheet, and completely missing out the real agenda. Freedom.
The republican party was supposed to represent the legitimate resentment of Americans toward the federal government. The only republican nominee that said anything about it was Ron Paul, and nobody listened to what he had to say.
The government is not after your guns, abortion IS freedom and gays can be republicans as well. But the government IS after the American REAL freedoms: speech, from tyranny, to live even if you are against the government and off US soil, to have your emails and phone calls go untapped.
The fact that HSBC executive can actively assist terror and US enemies and go unpunished – is a cause for outrage – but republican representatives are pro-corporations and the administration is democrat – so nobody cares?
Speaking about things that are not important is done on the expense of speaking of what is important. The attention and effort of many people who feel that something is wrong but know not how to articulate it, is stolen by the corporations (nay “people”).

But what do I care? because the lack of freedom is contagious. and Israel gets pneumonia when the US sneezes.

אני אמור לדבוק בבחירות הקרובות בישראל (מחר)

אבל אני מרותק לפוליטיקה האמריקנית. למרות שהבחירות כבר חלפו, הזירה הפוליטית רותחת. לאורך כל הקדנציה הקודמת ומסעות הבחירות הרותחים (והבחירות המשעממות קמעה) – השגחתי בנושאים, האופן שבו בוטאו והאישיויות שהוצגו.
כחובב “דיילי שואו” ו”קולברט”, הייתי מוטה מאד לדמוקרטים. הרפובליקנים הוצגו (ופרט למקרים נדירים, עדיין מוצגים) כתומכי “מסיבת התה” המוטרפת, עם סדר יום מיושן לגמרי: זכויות גאים, הפלות ו(הנושא העכשווי) בקרה על נשק.
לאחרונה, החלתי לחוש שסדר היום הרפובליקני נחטף. המליונרים שתומכים בקמפיינים של המועמדים הרפובליקנים גרמו לדוברים ולמגישים של פוקס ניוז להצמד לדף המסרים, ולהחמיץ לחלוטין את סדר היום האמיתי.
חרות.
המפלגה הרפובליקנית אמורה לייצג את ההתנגדות הלגיטימית של אמריקנים לממשלה הפדרלית. מועמד הנשיאות היחידי שאמר על זה משהו היה רון פול, ואף אחד לא שמע מה שהיה לו להגיד.
הממשל לא בא בעקבות הרובים שלכם, הפלה היא חרות ויש הומואים רפובליקנים. אך הממשל בהחלט רודף את החופש האמיתי : חופש הדיבור, החופש
מעריצות, לחיות גם אם אתה נגד הממשל ולא נמצא על אדמת ארה”ב, לנהל שיחות ומיילים בלי שיצותתו לך

יכולים לסייע באופן פעיל לטרוריסטים ואויביב המדינה – ולצאת ללא עונש – היא מעוררת זעם – אך הנציגות הרפובליקנית היא פרו-תאגידית והממשל דמוקרטי – ?אז לאיש לא אכפת
לדבר על משהו תמיד בא על חשבון דיבור על משהו אחר וחשוב. תשומת הלב והמאמץ של אנשים רבים שחשים שמשהו שגוי אך לא מסוגלים להמשיג זאת – נשדדים על ידי תאגידים (לא אנשים)

אבל למה זה אכפת לי? כי אבדן החופש הוא מדבק. ישראל מקבלת שחפת כשארצות הברית מתעטשת
